AUSSIE FILMMAKERS PAY AS YOU FEEL PREMIERE

This years Sydney Film Festival’s highest scoring Australian film Men’s Group (as voted by the audience) has wowed festival audiences around the world and is now set to hit the big screen on September the 18th .

Men’s Group premieres at the Sydney Theatre on Thursday 18 September and for the first time will use a “pay as you feel” policy. “Our opening night audience will be able to judge for themselves, if they love the film or hate it they only pay as much as they feel it’s worth” says producer John L Simpson.
The film was financed with a reverse finance structure with none of the cast and crew being paid, it’s a co-op, so they all share in the film’s success.”

Men’s Group stars seven extraordinary actors; Grant Dodwell, Paul Gleeson,
Steve Le Marquand, Don Reid, Steve Rodgers, Paul Tassone, William Zappa

Audience response to Men’s Group has been very passionate.

I laughed till I cried, then I cried my heart out….If you ever wanted to understand your brother, father, husband, lover or yourself, then you MUST see this film”

Men’s Group has got men talking and is the result of a collaboration between Director Michael Joy and Creative Producer John L. Simpson (the distributor of the highly acclaimed - The Jammed). John says:

“We wanted to explore some of the unspoken fears and vulnerabilities many men face, but are unable to voice. Michael and I both had close friends who tragically took their own lives. We recognise that many Australian men are in crisis. As artists, we want to give voice to the many dilemmas and situations men face, particularly in their relationships as partners, sons and fathers.”

The film will then Screen for one week only at
The Chauvel Cinema in Paddington 22 - 28 September
